Natural resource scientists talk Big Bend soil, plants in Chinati online talk
FAR WEST TEXAS - Join the Chinati Foundation for "Seeing Explains What We See," an engaging online discussion with local soil and flora experts on Wednesday, February 17.
Set for 3:30-4:30pm, the talk will include soil scientist Dr. Lynn Loomis and range management specialist Will Juett, who will each share knowledge and observations about their fieldwork conducted during their years with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service.
Audience participation will be encouraged.
The discussion is the first of the May Quick World of Wonder Series, a loose confederation of talks over wide-ranging topics that consider aspects of the Big Bend. A long-time Marfa teacher and a friend to the artist Donald Judd, May Quick brought irrepressible curiosity to every encounter. She was never afraid to learn something new or pose a question, and the new series is duly named in honor of her great spirit.
The online event is a production of the Chinati Foundation's education department. It's important to note that enrollment is limited, but a recording of it will be available later for viewing online. To register, contact Molly Bondy at [email protected]
