I had a pecan tree in my back yard that was nearly 100 years old. It was planted by my landlady in the 20's. Some "plant guy" spiked it to kill webworms, but killed the tree instead. It sat for a few years drying out, then I had it cut down in as large of pieces as I could, hauled it to a New Mexico sawmill and had it cut into 4 inch slabs. Then I took it to a wood shop had the small parts cut in to 1 x 6's, and the slabs made in to three beautiful tables. I still have 8 slabs left, and I am not going to use any more of this wood. This is beautiful wood for an art or furniture project. The finished table is two slabs put together. Email me at jamesh at jameshevans dot com or call me at 432-386-four three six six with any questions. I will take photos of each slab if you want me to, but they are all beautiful. $1000.
