Hi, Is there anyone who can help me figure out how to repair termite damage in my floors? The termites are gone, but I'd like to seal up where they did their work (as opposed to replacing boards). I'm not sure what products or how to best do it. Thanks, Daphne 917-608-1000
I would replace the termite damaged tongue and grooved boards - it's not that difficult. A repair done properly on a wood floor does not diminish its historic value, attractiveness, or function. Stagger the joints and use the same species of wood and it will look fine.
The termite damage may be more extensive than it appears and may include damaged floor joists, which can be reinforced when the damaged flooring is removed.
