The Scholastic Book Fair set to let your imagination run wild!
Did you know a child who reads 20 minutes a day is exposed to 1.8 million words per year and scores in the 90th percentile on standardized tests?
Marfa ISD’s annual Scholastic Book Fair is this week, November 5-9, at the Marfa Schools Library on the high school campus. Everyday hours are Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm and Friday, 8am - 12 noon. Help the school’s library reach its goal of 806 new adventure, sci-fi, best-selling, and picture books. You will find hundreds of titles from new and favorite authors, popular series, and graphic novels as well as posters and school supplies for all ages. See this year’s featured titles at www.scholastic.com/bf/marfaschoolslibrary
Need extra shopping hours? Everyone’s favorite Family Night is Thursday, 11/8, 6-8pm. Refreshments will be served.
Can’t make it during those hours or live out of town? Shop the Online Book Fair from 10/31-11/10/18. Go to onlinebookfairs.scholastic.com to find the school’s wish list plus many more titles to choose from. Online sales pushed us past our goal last year, so remind out-of-town families that they, too, can help us reach our goal.
Got spare change? Any donations to the All for Books campaign box will support STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) purchases.
