The 1st in a generation if not marfa's entire history: a disoriented grey squirrel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_gray_squirrel is running around old fort D.A.Russell. It may have been a stowaway w/ a springbreaker over this past weekend.
PLEASE respond if you know to whom the squirrel belongs or if you are interested in trapping & adopting the squirrel for transplant to an in-town property w/ pecan & oak trees. Otherwise, we'll look into returning him/her to central/east texas. We worry that the new adolescent bald eager in town or some of our local hawks & owls might devour the critter if action isn't taken sooner rather than later.
Thanks! for the inviting offer, Sandust (great name BTW). Why not call: 729.1852 to follow-up? Last I saw of the squirrel, s/he was in a tree that doesn't provide eatable food; we've left water out for the critter.
