There are five rooms w/ a courtyard obscured by plantings in the front: 1) a door leads from the courtyard into a den w/ sleeper futon (previously this space was used as a bedroom & accommodated a double bed & @ another time was an office) 2) this room leads to a large dining room (w/ a 12 light window looking onto the courtyard) & the kitchen 3) off the kitchen are doors to the backyard & the bathroom (w/ a shower/tub) 4) from the dining area is a door that leads to a similarly sized room currently used as a bedroom but previously was used as the living room w/ doors leading to the backyard & a space now used for storage. It's a quiet, walking/biking, easy neighborhood w/ a nice mix of people & services: + open space abounds w/ a vacant lot on either side of the casita, the house next door is used only for storage & the lots across the street enclose a large pen for a chicken, goat & horse who are all friends; + generations of Marfa's old Latino families; + some newcomers; + the Capri, a block & a half away, whose owner also lives two blocks away in the other direction; + the community clinic; + Porter's grocery store; + the public pool & westside park five blocks away; + plus buildings along Hwy 90's commercial strip muffle the honking of trains; + the whole town is accessible from the casita.

This sounds fantastic. I am looking to relocate from Austin to Marfa. I might have a har time coming by to look at it beforehand, but the price is right and the community sounds great. I came into town and have actually applied at the Capri. I didn't even remember the name of the place. Hah! I felt good about the people there though an open reception. While I'm in town do you think I could come by for a visit? I would greatly appreciate the opportunity. Thank you.
Apologies to all but w/ a busy summer I did not check this listing: - there is no wifi provided; - recent years' rentals have been on a month-to-month basis but that may change in October for a yearly basis = requirement; - the rent may be increased due to an unanticipated increase in property taxes; - there are no gates & fully connected fence surrounding all of the property, which includes Mims Draw, so safety considerations preclude children residing on the premises.
